ÐÜèÊÓÆµis planning to provide comment on proposed changes by the U.S. Department of Education Office of Civil Rights (OCR) to the Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC), which were published in a on September 19.
ÐÜèÊÓÆµurges members with an interest in these data to review the proposed changes and consider providing their own comments by the November 18 deadline. Comments can be submitted on the regulations.gov website.
ÐÜèÊÓÆµExecutive Director Felice J. Levine emphasized that “we would also value ÐÜèÊÓÆµmembers sharing their expertise on this topic with the association by sending an email to govrelations@aera.net.”

In addition, OCR is proposing the expansion of data collection on reports of sexual violence, reports of bullying and harassment based on religious beliefs and sex/gender stereotypes, and the enrollment of students with disabilities in Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate courses.
