October 2021
In 2014 ÐÜèÊÓƵlaunched ÐÜèÊÓƵOpen, its first fully open access journal and among the first open access journals in the social and behavioral sciences published by a research association. Under the leadership of Editor-in-Chief Mark Warschauer and Co-editors Greg J. Duncan, Jacquelynne S. Eccles, and Nancy E. Hill, the journal has thrived during its first seven years, achieving robust submission, publication, and download rates. In 2019, the Association of American Publishers named ÐÜèÊÓƵOpen the “Best New Journal in Social Sciences.”
This is a period of transition for the journal since a new editorial team led by Editor-in-Chief Kara S. Finnigan took the reins on October 1. Upon turning the editorship over to the new team, Duncan and Warschauer reflected on lessons learned during their tenure. ÐÜèÊÓƵis pleased to share their reflections here.
More information on ÐÜèÊÓƵOpen can be found on the ÐÜèÊÓƵwebsite.
