In Memoriam

ÐÜèÊÓÆµmembers who have recently passed away

Christopher Edley Jr., 71, died on May 10. He was Dean Emeritus and the Honorable William H. Orrick, Jr. Distinguished Professor of Law at the University of California, Berkeley Law School. Edley was a member of ÐÜèÊÓÆµDivision LEducational Policy and Politics; previously chaired the Excellence in Media Reporting on Education Research Award Committee; and recently served on the Government Relations Committee. He was co-chair of the National Commission on Education Equity and Excellence and chaired the Academies panel that produced the consensus report Monitoring Educational Equity (2019). Edley served as a senior advisor to Presidents Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, and Barack Obama.
