With FY 2022 Appropriations Process about to Get Underway, ÐÜèÊÓÆµUrges Boosts to Research Funding
In early April, President Biden is expected to release preliminary details of the administration’s budget request for FY 2022. The budget request is typically released in February, but the administration’s first budget has been delayed due to challenges with the transition from the previous administration and the absence of a permanent director of the White House Office of Management and Budget. Read more

American Rescue Plan Act Includes Emergency Funding to IES and NSF for COVID-19 Response
On March 11, President Joe Biden signed the American Rescue Plan Act into law. The legislation provides $1.9 trillion in COVID-19 relief and stimulus in response to the continued needs created by the pandemic. Read more

House Science Committee Leaders Introduce Bipartisan NSF Reauthorization Bill
On March 26, House Science Committee Chairwoman Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-TX) and Ranking Member Frank Lucas (R-OK), along with Chairwoman Haley Stevens (D-MI) and Ranking Member Michael Waltz (R-FL) of the Subcommittee on Research and Technology introduced the National Science Foundation for the Future Act. Read more
