IES Director Advances Proposed Priorities for Public Comment
On March 28, the Federal Register published a request for comment on proposed priorities for the Institute of Education Sciences. Comments on the priorities can be submitted at regulations.gov through May 28. Read more

President's Budget Request Proposes Deep Cuts for Education Research
President Donald Trump released his budget request for the 2020 fiscal year on March 11. Overall, the proposed budget includes massive cuts for nondefense spending, including for agencies that support education research and statistical programs. Read more

William Beach Confirmed by Senate as Bureau of Labor Statistics Commissioner
On March 13, the Senate confirmed William Beach to serve as commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics, by a 55–44 vote. Read more
