èƵAnnounces 2020 Award Winners in Education Research; Nominations for 2021 Awards Due October 29 èƵhas announced the winners of its 2020 awards for excellence in education research, including Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson and Harvard scholar Howard Gardner. èƵwill honor the recipients for their outstanding scholarship and service at a Virtual Awards Celebration in September. The nominations deadline for the 2021 èƵAwards is October 29 (except for nominations for the Outstanding Book Award, which are due October 21).

Mary Dolores Durkin, 97, died on July 6. She retired from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1993, as a professor in the Department of Elementary and Early Childhood Education and a senior scientist at the Center for the Study of Reading.
