Annual Meeting Participants Successfully Record Choice for Presenting in San Diego or Virtually
On November 1, when acceptance notices went out to 2022 Annual Meeting participants, they were asked to determine whether they wished to participate place-based in San Diego or on the virtual platform. Read more

Annual Meeting Registration Opens January 11
As announced on December 20, registration for the ÐÜèÊÓÆµ2022 Annual Meeting will now open on Tuesday, January 11. This change will provide ample time for ÐÜèÊÓÆµto work with its vendors to implement and test the COVID vaccination requirement, incorporate use of ÐÜèÊÓÆµmember/user ID as the universal ID across Annual Meeting functions, and allow for a seamless single sign-on for Annual Meeting attendees. Read more

ÐÜèÊÓÆµMembers to Receive Free Electronic Access to All ÐÜèÊÓÆµJournals Beginning in 2022
Starting in January, ÐÜèÊÓÆµwill provide all members with free electronic access to its entire suite of journals, reducing its carbon footprint and providing members much more content. Read more

ÐÜèÊÓÆµhas selected six new fellows for the ÐÜèÊÓÆµFellowship Program on the Study of Deeper Learning. The early career scholars joining this highly competitive program will conduct research using the American Institutes for Research Study of Deeper Learning data set. Read more

On November 17, Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-NY) and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) announced a bicameral agreement to move consideration of the United States Investment and Competition Act to conference between the House and Senate. Read more

On December 8–9, the National Science Board held its most recent quarterly meeting. NSB establishes policies for the National Science Foundation and also serves as an independent body of advisors to the president and Congress on science and engineering policy. Read more

In Memoriam

ÐÜèÊÓÆµmembers who have recently passed away

Thomas M. Skrtic, 75, died on November 19. He was the Williamson Family Distinguished Professor of Special Education at the University of Kansas. Skrtic was a member of Division G—Social Context of Education and Division L—Educational Policy and Politics.
