Have you had a chance to explore the online platform for the 2022 ÐÜèÊÓÆµAnnual Meeting yet? Registrants need to set up their account to access and make full use of the platform. We recommend doing so ASAP so you can set up a profile, create a personalized agenda, and become comfortable with the platform’s features and functions. Whether you are participating in the Annual Meeting virtually or on site in San Diego, the platform will serve as the web-based Annual Meeting hub. Both virtual and place-based sessions are fully integrated into the schedule. Read more

Register Your Vaccine Status with SafeAccess Before Traveling to San Diego
As part of the entry requirements for the 2022 ÐÜèÊÓÆµAnnual Meeting, all attendees must be fully vaccinated (including booster if eligible) to attend in person. On April 1, ÐÜèÊÓÆµtransitioned from CLEAR to SafeAccess as the vendor responsible for confirming the vaccination status of on-site attendees with U.S. vaccination cards and non-U.S. vaccination cards. On-site attendees who have not already registered with CLEAR need to register with SafeAccess before they arrive in San Diego. On-site attendees who have already registered with CLEAR do not need to take any further action. Read more

You can download the 2022 ÐÜèÊÓÆµAnnual Meeting mobile app in the or and leverage the app for your attendance. The app, along with the online platform, will serve as the program for the Annual Meeting.

ÐÜèÊÓÆµand Pathable, our vendor for the online platform and app, are pleased to provide several resource materials to help Annual Meeting attendees, including presenters, chairs, exhibitors, and others prepare to use the online platform. ÐÜèÊÓÆµhas also posted videos from three training webinars for presenters who are using the ÐÜèÊÓÆµi-Presentation platform for their paper presentations.

Bring Your Masks and Headphones
All place-based attendees are required to wear a mask indoors at all ÐÜèÊÓÆµsessions and events, except when eating or drinking. This policy will be enforced even if the city of San Diego does not have a masking mandate. Also, don’t forget your headphones or earbuds to join virtual sessions from San Diego. There will be ample connectivity and spaces available to set up your laptop or device as part of the meeting (no need to run back to your hotel room).

The , intended to stimulate the dissemination, public scrutiny, and implementation of ideas that have potential to bring about significant improvement in educational practice and advances in educational attainment, is accepting nominations for its 2023 award. Deadline: April 25.

The 2022 (SISRT) at the University of Michigan’s Survey Research Center offers high-quality, state-of-the-art, and rigorous graduate training in all phases of survey research, as well as in the use of new types of data and methods (web scraping, machine learning, and sensor data) for conducting social research. Courses are held between June 6 and July 29.


In Memoriam

ÐÜèÊÓÆµmembers who have recently passed away

John D. Bransford, 78, Professor Emeritus of Learning Sciences and Psychology at the University of Washington in Seattle, died on April 11. He was an ÐÜèÊÓÆµFellow and co-recipient of the 2001 Review of Research Award. Bransford was a member of Division C–Learning and Instruction and Division K–Teaching and Teacher Education.

Marta Aida Sánchez, 60, an associate professor in the Watson College of Education at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, died on March 15. She served as chair and program chair of the Professors of Educational Research Special Interest Group.  

James W. Selgas, 79, who served as director of research and planning, coordinator of psychology, and as a faculty member at Harrisburg Area Community College, died on April 7.
