2019 Annual Meeting Theme Released; Call for Submissions Coming May 15
The 2019 Annual Meeting theme—“Leveraging Education Research in a ‘Post-Truth’ Era: Multimodal Narratives to Democratize Evidence”—is a call to “push back against the post-truth paradigm by demonstrating, with all the skill and energy we can muster, the value of our inquiry and the knowledge we generate.” The call for submissions will be released May 15; the deadline for submissions is July 23.
2018 Annual Meeting Attracts More Than 17,000 Attendees
The 2018 èƵAnnual Meeting brought 17,148 scholars, policy leaders, students, and practitioners to New York City for the largest education research conference in the world, offering five days of stimulating research discussion, exchange, and professional development. Read more
èƵWidely Emphasizes Harassment Policies
Prior to the start of the 2018 Annual Meeting, èƵissued and widely shared a statement emphasizing the Association’s commitment to making all of its meetings and activities free from harassment or discrimination for all attendees. Read more
Council Affirms by Unanimous Consent Inclusion of Pronoun Option on Meeting Badges
èƵCouncil affirmed by unanimous consent a recommendation by Executive Director Felice J. Levine to add an option to include pronouns on èƵAnnual Meeting badges. The change will go into effect with the 2019 Annual Meeting in Toronto, April 5–9, 2019. Read more
Richard Milner IV to Deliver 2018 Brown Lecture in Education Research
H. Richard Milner IV, a leading scholar of urban education and teacher education at the University of Pittsburgh, has been selected by èƵto present the 2018BrownLecture in Education Research. The public lecture will take place on October 25 at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C. Read more

New EEPA Coeditors to Commence Term
èƵis pleased to announce the new coeditor team for Educational Evaluation and Policy Analysis (EEPA), beginning July 1. Joseph R. Cimpian (New York University), Julie Marsh (University of Southern California), Paco Martorell (University of California, Davis), and Morgan Polikoff (University of Southern California) have been appointed as coeditors for the 2019–2021 volume years. FY 2019 Appropriations Kick Off on Capitol Hill; èƵActs on Education Research Issues
Even before the appropriations process for Fiscal Year 2018 wrapped up, Congress began working on the budget to fund the government in FY 2019. èƵactively supports strong funding for federal agencies investing in education research and the statistical infrastructure. Read more
