Outstanding Contribution to Practice in Cognition and Assessment Award

ELIGIBILITY

Nominations will be accepted for individuals or teams who have made significant and demonstrable contributions to the practical application of cognition and assessment in educational or related settings. Contributions may include innovations in assessment design, implementation, professional practice, instructional use of assessment information, or tools and resources that meaningfully integrate cognitive theory into assessment practice. Nominees must be members of the ÐÜèÊÓÆµCognition and Assessment SIG.

NOMINATION

Nominations must include the following:

  1. A letter of nomination describing the nature of the contribution, its significance, its impact on practice, and how it advances the mission of the Cognognition and Assessment SIG;
  2. A summary of the contributionÌý(up to 3 double-spaced pages) that includes sections describing the practical problem addressed, theoretical grounding, design or development process, implementation context, evidence of effectiveness or impact, and implications for practice;
  3. Supporting documentation of the contribution, which may include reports, publications, sample materials, evaluation data, or other artifacts demonstrating the practical application and impact.

The nominator and nominee agree that this contribution will not be simultaneously nominated for another ÐÜèÊÓÆµCognition and Assessment SIG award during the same award cycle.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE

The submission deadline for the Outstanding Contribution to Practice in Cognition and Assessment AwardÌý¾±²õÌýJanuary 10, 2026. All award materials must be submitted via email to the Awards Committee Chair, Kaiwen Man, at °ì³¾²¹²Ô°ª³Ü²¹.±ð»å³Ü.ÌýFor additional information, please contact the Awards Committee Chair.
