DSE SIG Travel Support

Dear Graduate Student Members of theDSE SIG,
We want to support you in presenting yourDSE-related work at AERA. To this end, each year we dedicate a portion of our SIG monies to funding Graduate Student Travel awards. The amount of the award will be based on the funds available for the SIG.These stipends are unavoidably modest, but we hope they may help to defray some of your cost in presenting at AERA. Information for èƵ2020 Travel grant will be posted here in the coming months.

Travel support decisions will be made by theDSE SIG Executive Committee based on the following criteria:

  • The applicant is a member of theDSE SIG
  • The applicant is a current graduate student
  • Studentsubmits a travel support application (single Word document) that includes:
    • Applicant's name, institutional affiliation, and preferred mailing address
    • An abstract ofworkrelated toDSE that has been accepted to the 2019èƵAnnual Meeting, and area of acceptance (SIG, Division, etc.)
    • A statement of need
    • A statement outlining how the applicant will disseminate “lesson learned” at èƵat his/her respective university.
    • A statement of status in graduateprogram (advanced students will be given priority consideration over newer students)
    • A brief letter of support from advisor/chair
  • Deadline for applications will be announced as we get closer to the annual èƵmeeting in 2020.
