The Charters & School Choice SIG is established to provide a non-partisan, multidisciplinary forum for research and discussion about various forms of school choice that enableÌýparents with the decision of where to send their children to school.Ìý Our aim is to build an international community of scholars who are in engaged in research, policy and practice concerning charter schools and other forms ofÌýschool choice. Pursuant to these purposes the SIG may elect to publish its own journal, or hold occasional conferences supplementing ÐÜèÊÓƵmeetings.

Welcome to the new website for the ÐÜèÊÓƵCharters & School Choice SIG. The Charters and School Choice SIG was created through a merger of two SIGS, theÌýÌýSchool Choice and Charter School Research & Evaluation SIGs after two years of work by Robert A. Fox and Penny Wohlstetter. As the current chair, IÌýencourage you to take full advantage of your SIG membership by reaching out to other ÐÜèÊÓƵmembers to share your research and accomplishments in the field of school choice. We are on Twitter atÌý@AERA_CSC_SIG; you can also use our member spotlight formÌý

We are planning some initiatives for the 2024-25Ìýyear, including a one-time Graduate Student Research Grant until we can apply for standing awards for early career scholars, so stay tuned! In the meantime, if you have questions or ideas for how to engage members, please contact me at jeanne.powers@asu.edu

Best,
