Hello Learning Sciences Community!Ìý

I am excited to serve as the chair of the Learning Sciences SIG this year, working alongside Lisa Lundgren as Chair, Kelsey E. Schenck as Secretary/Treasurer, and Xintian Tu as Secretary/ Treasurer-Elect.Ìý

This year in particular, we are seeking ways toÌýbolster and uplift each other and center the learning sciences as powerful voice in buildingÌýmore equitable and just futures. If you haven't yet, add your ideas on ways we can further support one another and strengthen this community.

The ÐÜèÊÓƵLearning Sciences SIG is dedicated to promoting research on the processes of learning and the design of learning experiences. We welcome research from a wide variety of methodological and theoretical perspectives with an emphasis on rich empirical and theoreticalÌýstudies that build our understanding of learning across a range of contexts. SIG-LS researchers often take design-based approaches that provide a multitude of lenses for studying learning that traverse deep ethnographic research to explore foundational ideas of learning in previously under-examined areas to large evaluations of the impact of learning experience design. A diverse group of researchers from a variety of backgrounds and research traditions make our SIG a truly multidisciplinary place to share and build intellectual ideas.Ìý

We look forward to engaging with you and strengthening our community.

Warmly,

Kathryn Lanouette

Assistant Professor,ÌýLearning Sciences and Science Education
