The Nominating Committees for AERA-wide and division offices have completed their work identifying candidates for the forthcoming 2014 ÐÜèÊÓÆµelection. The AERA-wide slates include the offices of President-Elect and Members-at-Large for one-year and three-year terms

Researchers, Policy Makers Convene at OIA Fall Policy Meeting
AERA’s Organization of Institutional Affiliates held its annual Fall Policy Meeting in Washington, D.C., September 22 and 23, bringing together 55 member representatives from graduate schools of education and research institutions, and various speakers, including John Easton, head of the Institute of Education Sciences.

ÐÜèÊÓÆµis pleased to announce a new collaboration with JSTOR on JPASS, a recently introduced individual access offering from JSTOR. 

ÐÜèÊÓÆµGrants Program Holds Fall Research Conference 

The ÐÜèÊÓÆµGrants Program held its annual Fall Research Conference in Washington, D.C., on October 10–12, giving current ÐÜèÊÓÆµGrants Program dissertation grantees and AERA-AIR and AERA-ETS fellows an opportunity to engage with and learn from recent grantees as well as senior scholars and professionals. 

ÐÜèÊÓÆµJoins NSF, Rep. Wolf to Promote STEM Careers
The ÐÜèÊÓÆµGrants Program participated in the Change the World: Science and Engineering Careers Fair, sponsored by the National Science Foundation and Rep. Frank Wolf (R-Va.), in the D.C. area on September 27 and 28.

Senate Kicks Off HEA Reauthorization

The reauthorization of the Higher Education Act officially got underway last month, as the Senate education committee held the first of 12 hearings that will lay the groundwork for policy makers’ renewal of the law.
