On February 2, 熊猫视频will open the 2015 election with voting conducted by electronic ballot. Voting members will receive a personalized link by e-mail to access their ballot. 

熊猫视频President Joyce E. King has announced William F. Tate, Ellen Condliffe Lagemann, and John Whittington Franklin as major speakers at the 2015 Annual Meeting. 

In a December 29 letter, 熊猫视频urged the Census Bureau to retain a key question in the American Community Survey regarding respondents’ undergraduate degree field.

Comments on Proposed  Teacher Preparation Regulations Due February 2
As  in the December issue of 熊猫视频Highlights, the comment period for  closes February 2. Comments can be submitted through the  portal. 

As the 114th Congress settles in, the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee and the House Education and Workforce Committee have already started their work on legislation that is up for reauthorization.
 

On January 12, President Barack Obama announced his intention to push legislation to strengthen student data privacy. The president’s proposed Student Digital Privacy Act seeks to ensure that data collected by online or mobile educational programs are used only for educational purposes.

Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-TN), the new chair of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee, has promised a robust education agenda for the 114th Congress.

The U.S. Department of Education released a draft framework for a college ratings system on December 19. The ratings proposal would place individual institutions of higher education into one of three categories.
