This July, ÐÜèÊÓÆµwill hold two advocacy training webinars to prepare ÐÜèÊÓÆµmembers to meet with congressional offices in their home districts. 
ÐÜèÊÓÆµNames Four Congressional Fellows for 2017-18
ÐÜèÊÓÆµhas named four scholars as ÐÜèÊÓÆµCongressional Fellows for 2017-18. They will spend a year in Washington, D.C., working on the staff of a member of Congress or a congressional committee, and use their research expertise to inform policy.
ÐÜèÊÓÆµCosponsors “Parenting Matters” Symposium with Buffett Institute, National Academies
On June 6, the Buffett Early Childhood Institute at the University of Nebraska, in collaboration with ÐÜèÊÓÆµand the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine, hosted a “Parenting Matters” symposium, attracting more than 200 researchers, practitioners, and advocates from across the country, along with local policy makers.

Both the Review of Educational Research (RER) and Educational Researcher (ER) ranked in the top ten for the 2016 Journal Citation Reports (JCR), just released in June.
2017 Annual Meeting Papers Now Available in Open-Access Online Repository
More than 2,500 full-text papers presented at the 2017 ÐÜèÊÓÆµAnnual Meeting were added to AERA’s open-access Online Paper Repository in June.

House Panel Holds Hearing on Education Research and Student Data Privacy
On June 28, the House Education and the Workforce Subcommittee on Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education held a hearing on “Exploring Opportunities to Strengthen Education Research While Protecting Student Privacy.”
National Academies Releases Report on the Value of Social, Behavioral, and Economic Sciences to National Priorities
On June 9, the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine released an advance copy of the report The Value of Social, Behavioral, and Economic Sciences to National Priorities: A Report for the National Science Foundation.
Congressional Committees Begin Work on FY 2018 Appropriations
Throughout June, the House and Senate appropriations subcommittees have worked on crafting legislation to fund federal agencies for the 2018 fiscal year, which begins on October 1.
